  • Jackson Heights, Queens – 2 Positions

    Position#1: Child Care Assistant (Evening & Overnight Shift)

    Position#2: Child Care Assistant (Day shift)

    Classification:  Fulltime

    Qualifications:

    • To be successful as an assistant, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Must be able to pass State and FBI criminal background checks, including Child Abuse & Neglect (SCR) clearance and all required medical clearances per State regulations.
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting
    • Physically fit and able to lift up to 40 pounds
    • Warm, approachable and possess excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, and great sense of initiative
    • A passion for early childhood development

    Responsibilities

    • Greet and welcome parents and children during drop-off and pickup time
    • Follow all required health and safety protocols per the program and state policies
    • Ensure that the basic and educational needs of the children are met
    • Assist with meal preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
    • Assist in deliveringactivities, communicate with parents via the mobile App and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times
    • Assist with lessons designed to facilitate the children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
    • Encourage self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement
    • Tend to the children’s basic needs which include: feeding, diaper-changing, tooth brushing and dressing them
    • Mediate conflict between children through age-appropriate interventions
    • Ensure that the program space remains safe and conducive to learning at all times
    • Liaise with families to gain insight into the children’shome behaviors, and progress
    • Track and inform parents of the children’s progress and important milestones
    • Comply with all inspections, and safety drills as per state regulations
    • Assist with School drop-off /Pickup and according to the transportation plan.
    • Attend professional development trainings as needed, and required by the regulation.
  • Mott Haven (Bronx) – 1 Position

    Position: Child Care Assistant (WeekendDay Shift)

    Classification:  Part-time (with potential for Full-time)

    Qualifications:
